Do I need to pay to use it?
Miomi is free to users but makes money through advertising and syndication partnerships.
Q Do I have to join Miomi to create information?
A You can add anything you want in digital format, whether it’s text, video, photos and audio. We accept most common file formats, but if there’s something you have that you don’t think we support, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
Who can see the content I create?
A It depends on whether you make your stuff private or public. In fact, you can do both. Stuff that you make public can be read by anyone on the internet. Stuff that you make private can only be seen by the people you specify. You can change those settings in your profile. This means that you can have some private moments for just you and your mates, and create public content for everyone to see.
What happens if I don’t like content I see on Miomi?
A Next to every Moment is a button marked “Flag as Inappropriate”. You’ll need to be a logged in user to do it, as we need to know who is flagging what. Be careful how you use this, as only content which is truly inappropriate should be flagged. This broadly includes anything which could not be viewed by the internet public at large, and includes indecent images, offensive language and stuff that insults or disparages people in a way that would be defamatory. We take this kind of thing very, very seriously. As soon as content is flagged as inappropriate, we suspend it pending a review by one of our human editors. If it is truly inappropriate, we’ll keep it suspended and will take appropriate steps regarding both the content and the person who created it. If stuff is arbitrarily or unfairly flagged as inappropriate, we may take action against the person who wrongly flagged it.
Can I believe what I read on Miomi?
A Almost all of our content is created by people just like you. Most of our content is peer-reviewed, which means that anything public can be reviewed, commented on and (in some cases) even changed by your fellow Miomi users. This means that you can get a pretty good picture of the truth by reading Miomi, in the same way that you can with something like Wikipedia (which you can also see on Miomi). However, you really shouldn’t rely on stuff you read on Miomi; it’s mostly meant for fun and general information.
Who writes the stuff on Miomi?
You! Some stuff we get in from content partners, some is created by us and the rest comes from you, and people like you.
